my sons Andrew and Michael, my daughter Danielle Barling, and our trusted friend Gerry—brings 96 years of combined experience to every project. This legacy of expertise ensures that your Post & Rail Fencing is meticulously handcrafted in-house with the highest quality materials we can find.

Standard Post and Rail Styles

We can also customise your order, to your exact specifications, including any style, rail quantity, and precise rail spacing you require.
(We included examples with mesh and wire to illustrate the wide range of functional and aesthetic modifications you can make).

Rail Spacings Guide

150 x 150mm posts using 150 x 50mm rails
200 x 100 & 200 x 200mm posts using 200 x 50mm rails
The rail spacing shown above represents our Standard Styles from P1 to P10, but this is absolutely not a limitation for your project.

There is no limit to the combinations you can choose. Mix and match rail and post sizes freely, such as combining the wider 200×50mm rails with our 150×150mm posts, or setting narrower rails into your larger 200×200mm posts. We build to your exact specifications.

Post & Rail Bay Spacings

We know selecting the right style is important, and with so many choices, it can be hard to know where to start. As a general guide, the most commonly chosen post is the P2, three rail and in conjunction with the P2 posts is the sturdier looking 200×200mm post, often used for all End, Gate, and Corner applications.

For fence bay spacing, 2.4m and 2.7m are the most frequently used and to guarantee stability and prevent any rail movement, we advise that spacings be no greater than 3.0m.

If you're aiming for that bold, chunky entrance, we can supply custom gate posts up to a 300×300mm.

  • Mid Posts: Intermediate posts are mortised all the way through for continues fence Runs.
  • Corner Posts: Mortised two sides half way through for a 90 degree direction changes. (used for 90 to 45 Degree)
  • Gate Posts: same as an End posts but often longer in-ground to support heavier gates and often larger posts.
