About White Cypress Pine

What is White Cypress Pine?

A naturally durable Australian softwood we've built our name on since 1996. It's naturally termite-resistant, structurally strong (F7-rated) and needs no chemical treatment to last outdoors.

How long will it last?

White Cypress is CSIRO-rated Durability Class 1 above ground (40+ years) and Class 2 in-ground (around 15–25 years). Coating the buried section of a post with a non-hazardous, creosote-based paint (such as Bondall or Diggers Eco) gives you the longest possible life.

Is it treated with chemicals?

No — it's 100% chemical-free. No CCA or hazardous treatment. Its own natural oils do the job that chemicals do in treated pine, so it's safe to handle and safe at the end of its life.

What's the difference between White Cypress and macrocarpa?

They sound similar but they're not the same. Genuine White Cypress is far more durable. Cypress Macrocarpa is only Durability Class 3 (around 5–15 years in-ground) and rots quickly when buried — it's cheaper for a reason, and we don't stock it. Always check what you're being quoted.

Can I paint or stain it straight away?

Yes. Unlike seasoned hardwoods, cypress needs no weathering time and won't bleed tannins onto your concrete or pavers — you can paint or stain it the day it's delivered.

Our Products

What do you make?

White Cypress post & rail fencing, timber bollards, school crossing posts, bollard sleeves, and custom outdoor and park furniture — all handcrafted in-house at our Kilsyth workshop.

What post & rail styles do you offer?

Styles P1 to P5 (one to four rails). Standard posts are 150×150, 200×100 and 200×200 mm (custom gate posts up to 300×300 mm), with rails in 150×50 or 200×50 mm and lengths of 2.4, 2.7 and 3.0 m. Not sure what you need? We'll help you work it out.

Do you make bollards to council specification?

Yes. We custom-make bollards to any council or client spec — pyramid, dome, splay, chamfer or peak tops, collars, chain/pipe/cable holes, impact holes and reflectors. If you've got a drawing, send it through.

Can you make custom sizes and designs?

Absolutely — custom work is what we do. Send us your sizes, a drawing, or a council spec and we'll build to it.

What timber do you use?

White Cypress Pine is our main timber. We can also supply hardwoods such as Ironbark and Spotted Gum on request.

Pricing & Ordering

Can I get a price online?

Yes — use our instant pricing tools on the Post & Rail and Bollard pages to get a price in about 90 seconds, any time of day. For anything custom, just get in touch.

Do you sell to the public, or trade only?

Both. We supply homeowners, councils, land developers, and fencing and landscaping contractors.

What are your lead times?

Usually 3–5 working days, depending on the job and how busy we are — we'll confirm when you order.

Delivery & Installation

Do you deliver?

Yes — we deliver across Melbourne and Victoria, and can arrange freight further afield. Just ask for a delivery quote with your order.

Do you install?

We're a manufacturer and supplier, so we don't install ourselves — but we can point you to independent installers in your area (there's an installer finder on our website). If you're doing it yourself, our free install guides walk you through it step by step.

Looking After It

How do I make my fence or bollards last as long as possible?

Paint the in-ground section of each post with a non-hazardous, creosote-based paint before you set it. Above ground, cypress is happy left natural or painted/stained to suit — a re-coat every few years keeps it looking its best.
