White Cypress Pine is a naturally durable timber, rated Class 1 above ground and Class 2 in-ground, and already contains the natural resins that protect it from fungi, insects and decay. That makes it a genuinely chemical-free choice: no CCA, no ACQ, no treatment at all. It also means a clean end of life. Under EPA Victoria's rules only untreated timber may be mulched or spread on land; treated timber cannot be burned, and CCA-treated timber is prescribed waste for a licensed landfill. When a cypress post or bollard is finally replaced, it can be chipped and go back into a garden bed.
To help it last a lifetime, we recommend adding a non-hazardous protective paint, such as Bondall or Diggers Eco, to the buried section of your post. Even on the highest-rated in-ground timbers, this is the most effective way to get the longest possible lifespan. Timbers like Merbau and Spotted Gum need a long seasoning period — exposed to sun and rain, they slowly release their natural oils and tannins. Paint them too early and the finish fails. Wait too long and the timber turns grey and splits.

Do you make bollards to council specification?
Yes. We build to any council or client drawing: pyramid, dome, peak, chamfer or splay tops, collars, chain, pipe or cable holes, impact holes and delineators. Send us the spec and we'll price it.
What sizes and tops are available?
Square sizes from 100 x 100 up to 200 x 200 mm in White Cypress, with Spotted Gum and Ironbark on request. The most common tops are a 20 mm chamfer, 35 degree pyramid and 20 degree splay, and we can custom-make almost any profile.
Do you make removable or collapsible bollards?
Yes. Our bolt-down collapsible bollards fold down to 110 mm high so maintenance vehicles can get through, and our hot-dipped galvanised in-ground sleeves let a bollard be lifted out when needed.
How are timber bollards fixed in the ground?
Most are concreted straight into the ground. Where a bollard needs to come out, use one of our galvanised in-ground sleeves. For vehicle access, use a bolt-down collapsible base. Our free bollard installation guide covers each option.
Can you drill for chain, pipe or cable?
Yes, up to 75 mm diameter through bollards up to 300 mm wide. Allow 5 mm clearance for pipe and 4 mm for chain or cable. We also CNC route and paint logos.
Do you supply bollards for schools, car parks and Vic Roads jobs?
Yes. We supply councils, Parks Victoria, schools, developers and contractors. Roadside bollards can have impact holes to comply with Vic Roads, and recessed red and white delineators.
